Living Dreams Wine & Cheese Fundraiser

You are invited to a fundraising “Wine & Cheese” Evening to support Living Dreams, a non-profit organisation which was established with the dream of making a real difference by enriching and empowering the lives of orphans living across Japan’s 552 “Children’s Homes”.

Today, Living Dreams works closely with 23 orphanages in Tokyo, identifying and meeting the specific needs for each home. The mission of Living Dreams is to create consistent opportunities for children in these Children’s Homes to help them find inspiration, build confidence and receive critical guidance and support through suchactivities as Learning, Sports, Arts and Technology.

Date: Wednesday 8th September, 2010
Time: Doors will open at 5:45pm for a 6pm start

Venue: Bleeding Heart Art Gallery, 166 Ann Street, Brisbane

Tickets: Tickets are $30 and can be purchased with proceeds to be donated to Living Dreams.
Upon receipt of payment, tickets will be e-mailed to attendees prior to the event.

PATHWAYS TO A JAPAN-RELATED CAREER - Part of Japan Week 2010

An invitation to a free information evening

• Not the usual careers night
• Think outside the square
• Interesting stories about personal experiences
• Ideas from experts on Business, Government, and Trade

The aim of this evening will be to raise awareness of the career opportunities available to students with a special interest in Japan and the Japanese language. After presentations from invited guests, there will be an opportunity for networking with leaders in Japan-related fields.

Fifth Conference of the National Federation of Australia-Japan Societies

new generation, new possibilities

The AJS(ACT) is pleased to be hosting the 5th biennial NFAJS conference.

This biennial conference is a great opportunity to network and to meet others engaged in promoting friendship and exchange between Australia and Japan. The 2010 conference is also an opportunity to learn of exciting new networks that are emerging between Australia and Japan and of the web-based tools that are making communication across borders easier than ever before.

Presentations will specifically deal with using the internet and website to maintain relationships with organisations in Japan. New professional, cultural and artistic networks will be presented along with the way in which they have been developed and maintained. Everyone involved in Australia-Japan networking will gain from this focus.

This will also be an opportunity for Japan-Australia Societies to visit and meet and network with their counterparts in Australia. Together this will be a celebration of our common purpose in promoting friendship and exchange between out two countries.
